Highly Competitive Scholarships:

  • The University of Otago offers only eight International Master's Research Scholarships each year, with two awarded in each teaching division. Due to this limited number, the selection process is highly competitive.

Strong Academic Record Recommended:

  • To have the best chance of winning this scholarship, we recommend applying only if your grades in the later years of your undergraduate degree are consistently high, ideally at A or A+ level.

English Requirements:

  • just before the thesis component is about to begin (usually at the start of the second year for a master's degree by papers and thesis) – you will receive an alert in your
    eVision portal after enrolling in your thesis paper.
