Tokyo, April 25, 2024 - The Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the opening of the 18th Japan International MANGA Award for 2024, inviting global talents to participate. This prestigious competition is designed for artists specialising in cartoon and manga art, offering participants the chance to win a fully sponsored trip to Japan.
The award categories include the MANGA Gold, Silver, and Bronze, recognizing the best submissions. Successful entries will receive trophies and certificates, with the Gold and Silver winners enjoying a 7-day cultural trip to Japan. The trip includes visits to major publishing houses and interactions with notable Japanese cartoonists, enriching the winner's exposure to the manga industry.
Applications are open to all international artists with original works longer than 16 pages, created within the last three years. Entries, either published or unpublished, must adhere to intellectual property rights and cannot use extensive AI assistance. The deadline for submissions is July 5, 2024.
