Who is NOT Eligible for this Scholarship:

This scholarship is not available to the following applicants:

• International students who are not paying full international fees. 
• Students entering their second or subsequent year of an undergraduate degree program. 
• Students entering a postgraduate degree program who are not entering their first year.
• Individuals who completed their secondary education at a New Zealand school. 
• Individuals who have completed the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Foundation Studies Programme at Victoria University of Wellington. 
• Students enrolled in a Study Abroad or Twinning program offered by one of our overseas partner universities.

Here's how to apply for a scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington:

Deadlines and Applications:

• Applications open one month before the closing date. Check back closer to the desired trimester (Term) for the application link. For reference:
  1. Trimester 2, 2024 application deadline: May 1, 2024 Apply Online Here

• Your application must be submitted online by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late applications will not be considered.
• All required documents must also be submitted by the deadline for your application to be considered.

What You'll Need to Submit:

• Online Application: Fill out the online application form completely.
• Personal Statement (500 words): Explain why you want to study at Victoria University, your academic goals, and why you deserve the scholarship. Highlight any leadership roles and involvement in your school or community.
• Academic Transcripts: Submit your full academic transcripts and any other relevant documentation related to your qualifications.
• Offer Letter: Include a copy of your offer of admission from Victoria University (conditional or unconditional).

Selection Process:

A committee of Victoria University staff will review applications and select scholarship recipients.

Important Scholarship Details:

• These scholarships cover a portion of your tuition fees.
• The scholarship amount will be credited to your tuition fees after the final withdrawal deadline for the trimester you received the scholarship (usually around two weeks into the trimester).
• Conditions:
  1. To receive the scholarship, you must be fully enrolled in a full-year program (as defined by Studylink's full-time criteria) for the scholarship's duration.
  2. The scholarship cannot be deferred to another year.
  3. You can hold this scholarship with other awards.
  4. Withdrawing from the university or failing to maintain satisfactory academic progress may require partial repayment of the scholarship. Notify the Scholarships Office if you intend to withdraw.
  5. Scholarship recipients may be asked to participate in university events or promotional activities as ambassadors for Victoria University.
  6. In exceptional circumstances, the scholarship's terms and conditions may be modified to avoid hardship for applicants.
