Scholarship Description:

ARIJ has launched the application process for a job opportunity in its editorial department under the second "Sherine Abu Aqla" fellowship. The position spans six months, commencing in mid-January 2024.






This opportunity is open to investigative journalists and editors of Palestinian descent. Applicants should boast a minimum of four years' experience in journalism and must submit samples of their published works. Successful candidates will dedicate themselves to collaborating with ARIJ for the entire six-month period, engaging in investigative work on agreed-upon topics alongside the editorial board. Applicants are required to present a proposal for an investigative project to be considered for the fellowship.


The recipient of the fellowship will gain access to ARIJ's training workshops throughout the duration of the program.

Scholarship Benefits:

ARIJ offers a stipend of $800 per month to the selected participant, covering travel and accommodation expenses in Amman.

The grant was introduced during the fifteenth ARIJ Forum and commemorates the memory of Shirin Abu Aqla, a martyr. It is made possible by the contribution of a Palestinian donor who has chosen to remain anonymous.
