All MPhil students in the Department of Archaeology undertake a Research Skills module and are required to submit a dissertation.
Students will complete two one-term core modules focused on the foundational principles and practices of Archaeological Science.
In addition, students can select two one-term modules from various specializations within Archaeological Science, typically one in Michaelmas and another in Lent Term.
Students also have the option to choose either one two-term module or two one-term modules from a broader selection available in the Department of Archaeology.
A dissertation is a key component of the MPhil program.
Students will agree upon their dissertation topic with a supervisor at the beginning of Lent Term.
Data collection occurs during Lent and Easter Term, followed by a summer period dedicated to writing up the dissertation.
