The International Criminal Law programme, offered as a joint initiative by the University of Amsterdam and Columbia Law School, provides students with an in-depth understanding of international and transnational criminal law. This unique programme spans two semesters, allowing students to build their expertise in Amsterdam before transitioning to New York for practice-focused training and tribunal-style simulations.
The curriculum emphasizes both procedural and substantive elements of international criminal law, including jurisdiction and cooperation. Students will engage in various learning activities designed to enhance their advocacy skills and practical knowledge.
Students will be assessed through a combination of written assignments, oral advocacy components, and coursework related to tribunal simulations and core modules. Specific assessment methods will be outlined in the course syllabus.
To apply for this programme, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized research university or an equivalent qualification that includes significant legal coursework.
