What you'll study

The program offers two pathways for completion, both designed to enhance research capabilities and applied knowledge in health policy, management, and evaluation.

  • Thesis option: Complete 3.0 Full Course Equivalents (FCE) along with a thesis.

  • Coursework-only option: Complete 5.0 FCE, which includes at least one research practicum.

Course themes may include:

For the thesis option, students will develop and complete an original research thesis under faculty supervision. In the coursework option, students will engage in at least one research practicum, applying research and evaluation methodologies to address health system or policy-related issues.

Entry requirements

Applicants must fulfill the general regulations set by the School of Graduate Studies and any additional requirements specified by the IHPME. Eligible candidates should possess an overall B+ average or higher during the last two years of a relevant bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A degree in a health profession, such as MD, BScN, BScOT, BScPT, DDM, or MScN, is required, with a B+ average in the final two years.

English language proficiency is essential, and applicants must provide valid test scores, with minimum requirements typically being:

  • TOEFL iBT: 93
  • IELTS: 7.0
