Scholarship Description:

On March 9, 2021, the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange announced recruitment in the POLONISTA Scholarship Program for Students and Scientists (2021). Interested candidates are hereby invited to apply.

The objective of the Program is to promote Polish language in the world by enabling foreigners interested in Polish language and Polish culture to study or carry out research projects in Poland.

Degree Level:

POLONISTA Scholarship and Fellowship Program 2021- 2022 is available to undertake Masters level programs at Poland Universities.

Available Subjects:

Following subject are available to study under this scholarship program.

Scholarship Benefits:

Scholarship for full or partial studies (one or two semesters) in Poland

  • 1250 monthly – first-cycle studies
  • 1500 monthly – second-cycle studies
  • 2200 monthly – third-cycle studies

Eligible Nationalities:

International students are eligible.

Eligibility Criteria:

The aim of the Program is to popularize the Polish language around the world by enabling foreigners interested in Polish and Polish culture to study or carry out research projects in Poland. The program is addressed to students of Polish Studies, Polish Studies or Polish programs implemented, among others as part of Slavic studies (in the field of Polish language, Polish culture and knowledge about Poland) and to scientists from foreign universities and scientific institutions.

Students- NAWA scholarship holders during partial (semester or two-semester) or full studies in Poland may develop their Polish language interests by improving their knowledge of the Polish language, participating in lectures and classes in accordance with the program of selected studies, conducting research, carrying out research projects, collecting materials for scientific work or thesis, using the resources of university libraries and archives. Interested students choose the university where they plan to study. The chosen field of study should be consistent with the program of studies at the home university and with the Program assumptions. The applicant must obtain the consent of the selected university to start studies and acceptance of the presented study program, and in the case of candidates for full studies - successfully complete the recruitment procedure at the selected university. Studies are conducted in Polish.

A novelty in this year's recruitment (2021) is the possibility to apply for a  scholarship for doctoral students and students who intend to undertake third-cycle studies in Poland.

Also eligible to participate in the Program are the winners and finalists of the Olympiad in Polish Literature and Language organized outside Poland, who may apply for a NAWA scholarship for the period of first or second degree Polish studies at a selected public university in Poland.
