Degree Level for University of Ghana DASH Scholarship:

University of Ghana DASH Scholarships for MS and PhD (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Masters, PhD level programs at University of Ghana.

Who can Apply?

Master's Applicants:

  • Hold a strong first degree in a field relevant to public health.
  • Possess at least two years of work experience in a health-related area.

PhD Applicants:

  • Have a master's degree in any health-related discipline, such as Public Health, Applied Epidemiology, Global Health, Geography, Population Studies, Psychology, Nutrition, Nursing, Health Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Medical Sociology, Migration Studies, or a related science field.
  • Demonstrate at least two years of post-master's work or research experience, ideally in a health-related field.

Step 1: University of Ghana Postgraduate Application

  • Meet Admission Requirements: Review and fulfill the University of Ghana's general requirements for postgraduate studies .
  • Apply Online: Submit your application for either the Master of Public Health or PhD Public Health program (specifically focusing on Population, Family and Reproductive Health) through the university's online application system.
  • Entrance Exams: After the application deadline, those who meet the admission criteria will be invited to take competitive entrance exams. These exams will consist of two parts: analytical essays and basic data analysis.

Step 2: DASH Scholarship Application

Required Documents (all in PDF format):

  • Cover Letter: Write a concise cover letter (one page) outlining your motivations for applying.
  • CV: Submit your full Curriculum Vitae (CV), highlighting your skills in statistical analysis and any research experience you have.
  • Personal Statement: Prepare a personal statement (one page for master's and two pages for PhD applicants). In this statement, explain:
  • Your past research or work experience related to young people's health (if any).
  • Your commitment to pursuing a career in adolescent health and the specific area you're interested in.
  • Letter of Recommendation: Include at least one letter of recommendation specifically for the scholarship that emphasizes your suitability for the award.
