Overview

The Biomedical Innovation (MBI) program at McMaster University is a full-time, in-person master's degree designed to equip students with the skills needed to address unmet biomedical needs. Through a combination of bootcamps and hybrid coursework, you'll learn how to validate solutions and translate innovative ideas into early-stage ventures.

What you'll study

The program spans three terms, focusing on the innovation and commercialization cycle. You'll engage in hands-on learning that prepares you to navigate the biomedical landscape effectively.

As part of your learning experience, you will typically complete a culminating innovation deliverable that aligns with the program's commercialization pathway.

Entry requirements

• A completed undergraduate honours degree.
• A minimum average of B+ (75–79%) in the last two years of study.
• For international applicants, proof of English proficiency in both written and oral forms is required.
• A personal statement, including a Letter of Interest and an up-to-date resume/CV (maximum of 3 pages).
• Two references (professional or academic).
