Entry requirements

To be considered for this program, applicants must demonstrate strong prior achievements in mathematics. The application process includes the Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT).

  • A-levels: A*A*A, including A*s in Mathematics and Further Mathematics (if taken). Alternatively, A*AA with A* in Mathematics and AS-level Further Mathematics is acceptable if Further Mathematics is not offered.
  • Advanced Highers: AA/AAB
  • IB: 39 points overall, including core points, with a minimum of 7 in Higher Level Mathematics.
  • Subject expectation: Mathematics at A-level (A*), Advanced Higher (A), or Higher Level IB Mathematics (7) is expected, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Admissions test: All applicants must complete the Mathematics Admissions Test (MAT).
