Overview

Entry requirements

Academic qualifications: Applicants should possess one of the following:

• A Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Ethics or a related discipline; or
• An Honours degree in Philosophy or a related field; or
• A qualification deemed equivalent by the university Senate; or
• An MBChB degree (or equivalent health sciences qualification) may be accepted if it includes adequate ethics-related coursework, as determined by the Department of Philosophy; or
• An average final mark of at least 60% in prior studies.

Additional considerations: If you lack a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Ethics, you may still be considered for admission by demonstrating relevant training in philosophy and/or ethics acceptable to the Department.

English language requirements

• IELTS (Academic): minimum overall score of 6.5
• TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 79
• PTE Academic: minimum score of 76
