Entry requirements

Applicants are required to hold a primary degree with at least an upper second-class honours (or an equivalent international qualification) in Economics or a related field where Economics is a major component. UCD may also accept candidates with an upper second-class honours in a cognate area that includes significant quantitative elements. Other relevant qualifications, such as an upper second-class honours in a Higher Diploma in Economics, may also be considered.

English language requirements

  • IELTS: 7.0 overall, with no band less than 6.5 in any section.
  • TOEFL iBT: 100 overall.
  • PTE Academic: 65 overall.
  • Duolingo English Test: 130 overall.
  • Oxford Test of English (OTE): 140 overall.

Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
