Study how stories work across literature, theatre and film—how they represent people and ideas, and how they shape public culture. You’ll combine critical theory with close reading and media analysis, alongside creative and practice-informed learning.
What you’ll study: The degree combines literature, theatre/performance and film/media, supported by contextual and theoretical learning. You progress from foundational study into more advanced critical and research-led work.
How learning is assessed: You’ll typically complete a mix of critical essays, research-based assignments and other assessed tasks that may include analysis of performances or screen texts. Seminar discussion and guided reading support your development of argument, evidence use and academic writing.
Progression: Early modules build core skills in close reading and contextual analysis; later study deepens theoretical engagement and encourages you to connect themes across genres and media.
