Overview

The Erasmus Mundus Journalism, Media and Globalisation (EMJ) program at Charles University equips students with the essential skills to report on global changes through a blend of analytical and multimedia production expertise. This unique course allows you to study and experience life in at least two different European countries while focusing on key areas such as investigative journalism, data journalism, and audio-visual storytelling.

What you'll study

The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, enabling you to explore how political, cultural, and technological factors influence journalism globally. During the first year, you will cover foundational modules and in the second year, you will have the opportunity to specialize in specific areas of interest.

• Applied journalism tracks (examples): Engage in foreign correspondence, investigative journalism, and data journalism.
• Capstone / final assessment: Complete a final assessment based on your practical work or a culminating project, confirming the specific format for your intake.

Entry requirements

Academic requirements

• A completed Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• At least three months of journalistic experience.
• No specific GRE/GMAT/GPA minimum is required.

English requirements

• IELTS (Academic): minimum 7.0 overall.
• TOEFL iBT: minimum 100 overall.
