The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship was established with the purpose of providing an opportunity for a female student hailing from a developing nation, where access to higher education is limited, to pursue postgraduate studies at Durham University. This scholarship initiative was introduced in 2018 as part of the commemoration of 30 years of women students at Hatfield College, Durham University. The funding for this scholarship is derived from contributions made by alumni, friends of the College, and other individuals and organizations who share the scholarship's objectives.
Hatfield College's objective is to grant the Lioness Scholarship to an individual who possesses the necessary academic and personal qualities to successfully complete a postgraduate program and derive its benefits. Furthermore, the recipient is expected to serve as a positive representative of her home country during her stay in Durham. After completing the master's program and gaining valuable knowledge and skills during her time in Durham, she is encouraged to apply her enhanced abilities for the betterment of her home country upon her return.

Stage 1: Submit an academic application for your chosen master’s programme; within this application you should reference your intention to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship;
Stage 2: Submit an application for the Scholarship via the application form once it is published;
Stage 3: Submit all supporting documents (Durham University offer letter, academic transcript, references and IELTS certificate) via email to hatfield.trust@durham.ac.uk by the deadline.
