Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) SeNSS 2023 is open for International Students . The University of Kent is a semi-collegiate public research university based in Kent, United Kingdom. University of Kent is a part of the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS) which has been accredited as a prestigious Doctoral Training Partnership by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) in July 2016. Economic and Social Research Council Scholarship (ESRC) is a doctoral programme offered by University of Kent. It is partially funded up to £17,668. This scholarship is open to people of all nationalities. SeNSS is one of only 14 UK ESRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnerships and will be offering a number of full-funded ESRC doctoral studentship to start in September 2023.

Scholarship Benefits:

These scholarships include a doctoral stipend (equivalent to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend for 2022/2023 was £17,668 2023/24 to be announced). Tuition fees at the home rate and access to further research funding. If you are applying as an international candidate, Kent will waive the difference between Home and International fees.

Eligible Nationalities:

This award is open to both UK residents and international (this includes EU national) candidates.

Eligibility Criteria:

In order to receive ESRC studentship funding you must have qualifications/experience equal to the standard of a good honours degree at a first or upper second class level from a UK academic research organisation. Degree qualifications gained from outside the UK, or a combination of qualifications and/or experience that is equivalent to a relevant UK degree, may be accepted.

Application Procedure:

New students wishing to be considered for ESRC SeNSS funding must apply for a PhD at the University of Kent by Friday 20 January, 12:00 Midday GMT. You must have a supporting statement from a potential supervisor when submitting your Kent application. Applicants are advised to discuss their research project with academic members of staff in the relevant school as soon as possible. Any current PhD students wishing to be considered for ESRC SeNSS funding should contact their School Director of Graduate Studies (Research) to advise them of their interest and complete a SeNSS HEI application by 20 January 2023 at the very latest.
