Europe-Korea Student Exchange DUO-Korea Fellowship 2026 With €8,000 Funding

The DUO-Korea Fellowship 2026 is now open for applications, offering funded academic exchange opportunities for students from Europe and South Korea. Supported by the ASEM-DUO Fellowship Programme, this initiative promotes balanced student mobility between Korean and European universities by providing financial support for a one-semester exchange program.

This fellowship is designed for paired student exchanges, meaning one student from a Korean university and one from a European university exchange places simultaneously. Selected participants can receive up to €8,000 per pair, making it easier to manage tuition, travel, and living expenses during the exchange period.

Unlike traditional scholarships that support individual applicants, the DUO-Korea Fellowship requires cooperation between partner institutions, making university coordination an essential part of the process.

Degree Level

The DUO-Korea Fellowship 2026 is available for students enrolled in:

Undergraduate degree programs
Master’s degree programs

Students must remain enrolled at their home institution throughout the exchange period.

Available Subjects

The fellowship is open to all academic subjects offered at participating universities. There are no restrictions on the field of study, as long as the exchange is approved under the institutional partnership agreement.

Eligible Nationalities

This fellowship is open to students from:

South Korea
European ASEM member countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom)

Applicants must be enrolled at eligible Korean or European universities participating in the DUO-Korea exchange framework.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the DUO-Korea Fellowship 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
Be nominated through a Korean university
Participate in an exchange between a Korean and European partner university
Both institutions must have an active cooperation agreement
Complete at least 10 credits or 20 ECTS during the exchange
Must not receive double funding from major government-sponsored mobility scholarships
Both exchange students must participate simultaneously

Students cannot apply independently; applications must be coordinated through the international office of the Korean university.

The Korean university submits the fellowship application on behalf of both students.
