The Forrest Research Foundation Post-doctoral Fellowships provide the following support:

  • Salary: Aligned with a Level A Step 8 appointment, such as The University of Western Australia Salary Scales, amounting to approximately $95,000 in salary along with 17% superannuation.
  • Accommodation Allowance: Amounting to $21,447 per annum in 2023 (subject to marginal tax rate).
  • Relocation and Research Travel Allowance: A one-time payment of $12,000 to cover relocation and research-related travel expenses.

The Forrest Research Foundation Post-doctoral Fellowships 2025 present a fully funded research scholarship for international researchers. These prestigious fellowships offer a generous salary of up to $95,000, along with an accommodation allowance of $21,447 per annum, and a one-time relocation and research travel allowance of $12,000.

Early-stage post-doctoral researchers with exceptional academic profiles and significant research contributions to their discipline are encouraged to apply for the Forrest Fellowships. Established in 2014 by Andrew and Nicola Forrest through the Minderoo Foundation, the Forrest Research Foundation aims to propel Western Australia into a world-class center of research and innovation by attracting outstanding intellects to the region.

The Forrest Research Foundation Research Fellowships aim to attract and support exceptional early-career post-doctoral researchers to conduct high-quality research at five prestigious universities in Western Australia, namely:

  • Curtin University
  • Edith Cowan University
  • Murdoch University
  • Notre Dame University (Fremantle Campus)
  • The University of Western Australia

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Forrest Research Foundation Post-doctoral Fellowships, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is mandatory.
  • Candidates must be in the final year of their PhD studies or have completed their PhD no more than two years ago.
  • Successful applicants are required to reside at Forrest Hall throughout the Fellowship duration.
  • It is expected that fellows will actively engage in mentoring Forrest Scholars, undertake ambassadorial duties for the Forrest Research Foundation, and demonstrate leadership within Forrest Hall.
  • Applicants must meet the employment eligibility requirements at the designated university.
  • Researchers from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply.
