The Fulbright Master's and PhD Program provides funding for graduate studies in the United States, and is sponsored by the United States Department of State. These grants cover various expenses such as tuition, textbooks, airfare, living stipend, and health insurance. The program also offers assistance with the visa process.
Eligible candidates for the Master's degree program must have either a four-year Bachelor's degree or a combination of Bachelor's and Master's degree totaling 16 years of formal education from an accredited university. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with the exception of MBA and Public Policy/Administration applicants who require 2 years of work experience.
For the PhD degree program, eligible applicants must have a Master's, M.Phil or equivalent degree (a minimum of 18 years of formal education) from an accredited university. It is desirable for candidates to have work experience in teaching, research, or the public sector in Pakistan.
All academic disciplines are eligible for both the Master's and PhD programs, except for clinical medicine. Applicants are required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE General), with a minimum score of 145 on each section, and a higher score on the section most relevant to their field of study. Additionally, applicants must have a high level of fluency in spoken and written English, and may need to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam.

All successful candidates are required to sign a contract with USEFP, and for PhD candidates, a bond with the HEC (Higher Education Commission) that requires them to return to Pakistan immediately after completing their program in the U.S. and serve the country for a number of years equivalent to the length of their scholarship program. This contract is redeemable on a year-for-year basis with a minimum requirement of two years of service. Fulfilling the service requirement allows the candidate to pay nothing. Overall, the program aims to support Pakistani students in pursuing advanced studies in the U.S. while promoting their commitment to serving Pakistan upon their return.
Full Bright Scholarship for Pakistani Students 2024, Study in USA. (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Masters, PhD level programs at USA Universities.
