Fully Funded International Scholarship Round 2023 is open for International Students . The scholarship allows PhD, MRes level program(s) in the field of All Subjects taught at Macquarie University . The deadline of the scholarship is expired at 03 Mar 2023.

International Research Training Program scholarship (iRTP) and International Macquarie Research Excellence Scholarship Program  (iMQRES) for SESSION 2 2023

The International Research Training Program (iRTP) is a scholarship offered by the Australian government to support international students pursuing higher degree research. Universities administer the program on behalf of the Department of Education, Skills and Employment. To apply for the iRTP scholarship, candidates must apply directly to participating universities.

The Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) program aims to support outstanding research students in fields that align with the university's research priorities and strategic framework. Additionally, those who apply for an iRTP will also be considered for the university's International Macquarie Research Excellence Scholarship program (iMQRES) at the same time.

Degree Level:

Fully Funded International Scholarship Round 2023 is available to undertake PhD, MRes level programs at Macquarie University.

Scholarship Benefits:

Successful PhD iRTP candidates will receive:

• Tuition fee offset for 3 years maximum
• Stipend for 3 years maximum (current 2023 rate is $32,000 p.a.)
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) with Medibank for the required period of the visa. The GRA will arrange single, couple, family or single parent family, whichever is applicable to the successful recipient.
• Travel Concession (applied to local transport OPAL Card)

Successful PhD iMQRES candidates will receive

• Tuition fee offset for 3 years maximum
• Stipend for 3 years maximum (current 2023 rate is $32,000 p.a.)
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) with Medibank for the required period of the visa. The GRA will arrange single, couple, family or single parent family, whichever is applicable to the successful recipient.

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is open to students of all nationalities except New Zealand and Australia

Eligibility Criteria:

• You must be a citizen of a country other than Australia/New Zealand, and not an Australian Permanent Resident
• You will plan to undertake a Master of Research Year 2 or Doctor of Philosophy in S2 2023 (no deferrals possible)
• You intend to reside in Sydney, Australia during your candidature
• You meet the HDR English Language Requirement by the application closing date
• You meet the admission criteria for entry into the Master of Research - Year 2 (MRes Y2) or PhD, for commencement in S2 2023
• You will have a valid visa allowing you to commence your study in S2 2023
• You have confirmation of supervision from an eligible Macquarie University researcher (compulsory for FMHHS and desirable for the other faculties)

Applications for commencement in S1 2023 open on 01 Jan 2023 and close on 03 March 2023, 11:59PM (AEST). We encourage applicants to submit their application as early as possible prior to the deadline. Please note that all dates refer to Sydney, Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).

Enrolled or have a Valid Offer:  Please note that *current MQ HDR candidates or applicants who have received a valid Macquarie University letter of offer for a Higher Degree Research program within the last 6 months must submit an online HDR Application for Scholarship Only. Please refer to the How to Submit Scholarship Only Application Guide submission instructions (*Commenced MQ HDR program after 1 January 2023 only)
