Scholarship Description:

The HEC Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship 2024-25 in Hungary welcomes applications from International Students globally. It's a Fully Funded Scholarship by the Government of Hungary, encompassing Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, and Non-Degree programs across the finest Hungarian universities. This scholarship opportunity for the academic year 2024 extends to various academic fields and majors, all taught in English and fully sponsored by the Hungarian government.

Launched in 2013, the HEC Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program aims to boost international student numbers in Hungary and attract top talent to Hungarian higher education institutions. The program covers full degree and partial study opportunities across Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs, predominantly in English, with additional courses in other languages available.

This initiative continually sees a rise in applicants, offering about 5,000 scholarships annually to talented students worldwide. It's an exceptional chance for global students to pursue education in Hungary.

SCHOLARSHIP TYPES

Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available for Pakistani students fulfilling basic eligibility criteria in specified disciplines and other requirements of Hungarian universities under following programs:

1. Bachelor's Degree (after 12 years education)
2. One-Tier Master's Degree (after 12 years education)
3. Master's Degree (after 16 years education)
4. PhD Degree (after 17/18 years education)

Applicants are eligible to apply for scholarship types and specified study fields as defined by HEC and that are also determined in the educational cooperation programmes in effect between Hungary and the sending partner i.e. Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Scholarship Benefits:

FINANCIAL COVERAGE

Tuition fees are covered by Tempus Public Foundation. Accommodation and health funding provisions are only a contribution to the living expenses of the scholarship holders. It means that it does not fully cover all the costs of living and the students need to add their own financial resources in order to cover all living expenses in Hungary. ​

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is open to Pakistani Students.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be citizens of Pakistan/AJ&K.
• Candidates in their final year of study or awaiting results are eligible.
• For Bachelor's and One-Tier Master's degrees like DVM, DPharm, Medicine/Dentistry, completion of HSSC/Intermediate or equivalent is required by August 01, 2024. Failure to submit final degree/transcript by the specified date will result in scholarship cancellation.
• Master's applicants must hold a 16-year Bachelors or equivalent degree by August 01, 2024. Failure to submit documents by the deadline will lead to scholarship cancellation.
• PhD applicants should have completed a 17/18-year Masters/MS/MPhil degree by August 01, 2024. Non-submission of required documents before the deadline will result in scholarship cancellation.
• Undergraduate Engineering programs are not available.
• No upper age limit, but minimum age for undergraduates is 18 by August 31, 2024.
• Complete all sections in both the Hungary and HEC application forms.
• Attested certificates/transcripts/degrees by IBCC and HEC are mandatory. O & A level equivalence from IBCC is essential for Bachelor's and One-Tier Master's degrees.
• Provide IELTS/TOEFL scores as required by Hungarian universities.
• Submit a medical certificate proving good health.
• Successful candidates must commit to returning to Pakistan after completion of studies as prescribed by HEC.
• Fulfill additional requirements set by the host Hungarian university/Tempus Public Foundation/Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
• Provide HAT or USAT test scores (minimum score of 50 out of 100). Those who haven't taken the test can register via the provided link.
• Initial screening is based on USAT/HAT scores and federal government quota policy.
• Non-eligibility includes applicants with dual citizenship and those providing incomplete or misrepresented information, leading to scholarship cancellation even after being awarded.

Application Procedure:

• Application Process:

  • Apply online on both the Hungarian and HEC websites; failure to do so on either site will result in disqualification.
  • Retain printed copies of the online forms for record-keeping purposes.
  • Later stages may require hard copies of the forms, attested photocopies, a medical certificate, and a police clearance certificate.

• Step 1: Tempus Public Foundation (Hungarian side) Online Application:

  • Access the Tempus Public Foundation Hungary online system to submit applications.
  • After registration, upload required documents and keep printed copies for record.
  • Apply online at Stipendium Hungaricum

• Step 2: HEC Online Application:

  • Apply at HEC Scholarship Portal
  • Select "Hungarian Scholarship Program" after profile completion.
  • Retain a signed copy of the submitted application.
  • HEC portal closes on January 15, 2024, at 1600 Hours Pakistan Time.

• Document Requirements:

  • Complete both HEC and Hungarian online application forms.
  • Attach a recent photo, a motivation letter, and proof of language proficiency (with translations if necessary).
  • Submit school certificates, transcripts, and translations where documents are not in the required language.
  • Mandatory submission of a medical certificate issued after November 15, 2023, and a copy of the passport.
  • Accept the "Statement for Application" in the Tempus Public Foundation's online system.

• Note:

  • Translations must accompany documents not in the selected study program's language or Hungarian to ensure completeness of submissions
