Scholarships for All KAIST Graduate Programs:

KAIST University Scholarship: This scholarship covers the full cost of tuition for the duration of your program:

    • Master's Degree: 4 semesters
    • Master's-Ph.D. Integrated Program: 10 semesters
    • Ph.D. Degree: 8 semesters

    Monthly Stipend:

      • Master's Students: KRW 350,000
      • Ph.D. Students: KRW 400,000

      National Health Insurance: 

      • KAIST covers your monthly National Health Insurance premium.

      Additional Funding Opportunities:

      KAIST Global Presidential Scholarship (KGPS): This prestigious scholarship offers even more generous funding:

        • Full Tuition Grant for 4 semesters

        Who Can Apply?

        This scholarship is open exclusively to international students who do not hold Korean citizenship.

        Academic Background:

        • Master's Applicants: You must present proof of a Bachelor's degree.
        • Ph.D. Applicants: You must present proof of a Master's degree.

        English Language Requirements:

        The majority (over 80% to 90%) of courses at KAIST are conducted in English. To demonstrate your English proficiency, you'll need to achieve a minimum score on one of the following exams:

        • TOEFL iBT: 83
        • IELTS: 6.5
        • TOEIC: 720
        • TEPS: 326

        English Proficiency Waiver:

        You may be eligible to waive the English proficiency test requirement if you meet one of the following conditions:

        • Citizenship and Education: You are a citizen of and have completed your previous education in one of these countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Malta, New Zealand, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago, U.K., or U.S.A.
        • Citizenship and Degree: You hold citizenship in one of these countries AND have completed an academic qualification from the same country: Botswana, Cameroon, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gambia, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Federated States of Micronesia, Namibia, Nauru, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, Samoa, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Republic of South Africa, Sudan, Republic of South Sudan, Tanzania, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
