B.A. Krukoff Fellowship 2024-2025 in Systematics is a fully funded masters scholarship for international students at Queen Mary University. This scholarship covers full tuition fees, and up to £25,000 maintenance and travel costs.


The bursary is provided by the Bentham-Moxon Trust B.A. Krukoff Fund to support a student wishing to focus their MSc research project on Tropical African botany. The bursary itself will be administered by RBG Kew.

Scholarship Benefits:

The B.A. Krukoff Fellowship in Systematics offers the following benefits to its recipients:

  • Monthly stipend of £20,000 to cover accommodation, subsistence, daily travel allowance, and expenses linked to the field trip.
  • Up to £5,000 designated for visa application expenses, UK Healthcare surcharge fee (as outlined on the UK Government website), and travel costs to and from the student's hometown/country at the start and conclusion of the course.
  • The Trust covers relevant tuition fees in addition to the allocated student amount.

Eligible Nationalities:

This fellowship is open to international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants seeking the B.A. Krukoff Fellowship must meet the following criteria:

  • Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries worldwide.
  • Must have secured an offer for the Kew/QMUL Plant and Fungal Taxonomy Diversity and Conservation MSc program for the academic year 2024-25. Conditional offer holders are eligible to apply but must fulfill all offer conditions by August 31, 2023, if awarded the bursary.
  • Showcase experience in Tropical African botany.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuing work and making an impact in Tropical African Botany post-completion of the course. (Note: Tropical Africa encompasses countries within the African Union, as listed in the qualifying countries.)

Additionally, the recipient of the bursary must:

  • Meet eligibility requirements to study in the UK. Applicants are advised to check UK visa prerequisites and application procedures well in advance before the course begins in September 2024.
  • Not hold any other bursaries or grants for pursuing an MSc during the academic year 2024-25.
