Scholarship Description:

International students who are interested in studying master's or doctoral level degree programs can now apply for scholarships offered by Taiyuan University of Science and Technology (TYUST) for the September 2024 cohort of students.

The Taiyuan University of Science and Technology (TYUST), which was founded in 1952 in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, is recognized as a pioneering institution in the field of heavy machinery and has evolved into a university that operates across multiple disciplines. By providing a wide range of programs, including two post-doctoral stations, three doctorate degree programs, and eighteen master's degree programs, TYUST has established itself as a frontrunner in the field of technological education and research. How much does it cost to study at TYUST without scholarship?

The cost of studying at Taiyuan University of Science and Technology (TYUST) without a scholarship includes tuition fees and accommodation fees. Based on the information provided, the costs are as follows:

Doctoral Programs Fee

• • Tuition Fee: 25,000 CNY (Chinese Yuan) per year
  • Accommodation Fee: 5,000 CNY per year

Master’s Programs Fee

• • Tuition Fee: 20,000 CNY per year
  • Accommodation Fee: 3,000 CNY per year

Please note, these fees do not include additional costs such as course materials, personal expenses, or mandatory medical insurance (which is 800 CNY per year).

Eligible Nationalities:

individuals who are not citizens of China and who hold a legitimate passport from another country.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Health: Good health, meeting China’s medical standards for international students.
• Education and Age:
  • Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree and under 35 years.
  • Doctoral applicants: Master’s degree and under 40 years.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in either Chinese or English to fulfill academic and daily communication needs.

Application Procedure:

Interested candidates for master’s or doctoral degrees must email the required documents to 2003009@tyust.edu.cn, addressed to Mr. Zhendou Du, or submit an online application as per TYUST notice. The International Education School will review submissions and contact eligible applicants.

List of Required Documents

The application package includes the TYUST application form, recommendation letters, passport photocopy, degree certificates, transcripts, resume, language proficiency certificates, a letter of good faith, a bank statement, a health certificate, and a notarial certificate of non-criminal punishment. Applicants must ensure all documents are authentic and complete.

Application Deadline of TYUST Scholarship and Admissions

Applications are open for admissions at TYUST until May 10, 2024.

TYUST Scholarships in 2024

TYUST offers scholarships covering tuition and accommodation, alongside financial awards for excellent students. TYUST offers two types of scholarships for international students:

1. TYUST Scholarship for International Student: This scholarship fully covers the tuition fee and accommodation fee for the duration of the program. For doctoral students, the scholarship duration is three years with the possibility of a one-year extension.
2. TYUST Scholarship for Excellent Doctoral and Master Student:
   • For Doctoral Students: CNY 20,000 per person, per year.
   • For Master Students: CNY 15,000 per person, per year.

   This scholarship is awarded monthly and is available for three years, with the possibility of a one-year extension for doctoral students.
