Scholarship Description:

Turing International Scholarships at University of Nottingham, UK 2022-23 is open for International Students . The scholarship allows Research level program(s) in the field of All Subjects taught at University of Nottingham . The deadline of the scholarship is expired at 30 Jun 2022.

Scholarship Benefits:

The candidates selected for this scholarship will be awarded a grant of up to £2,290 for a six-week Research Expedition with Operation Wallacea and additionally also up to 50-60% of the total cost to a student.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Turing Scholarships are exclusively for Home-Fee paying undergraduate students whose most recent school/college was a state school and who are part of one or more of the priority groups listed below. This helps to ensure that students from backgrounds underrepresented in Higher Education can fully access the opportunities available to all students and to improve social mobility.

    1. You are in receipt of a University of Nottingham Core Bursary or Nottingham Potential Bursary
    2. You have a declared disability or learning difference (if you have not declared this to the university you can email us at placements@nottingham.ac.uk)
    3. You are a mature student (age 21 or over at the start of your course)
    4. You have spent more than three months in local authority care (in this situation you do not need to have attended a state school)
    5. You are under 25 and estranged from your family
    6. You are a registered carer
    7. You have refugee status from the Home Office
    8. Your home address used on your UCAS application is in an area where people are less likely to go to University. This can be checked using the postcode checker available on the University website. The response ‘You may be eligible for a contextual offer’ confirms you have met this criteria.

Application Procedure:

  • Applications to the Turing Scholarship for Operation Wallacea are now over-subscribed and as such we are not currently accepting new applications. If you wish to have your details added to a waiting list please can you email placements@nottingham.ac.uk. Please include your name, student ID, and which Turing Scholarship you are interested in, and we will be in touch.

You can apply to Operation Wallacea directly via their website, and should you not be funded by a Turing Scholarship you may be able to access the International Work Experience Grant, also offered by the Careers and Employability Service. This offers smaller grant amounts and will be advertised from January 2022.
