For Undergraduates:

International Student Scholarships:

Prospective students seeking financial assistance are assessed based on criteria including high school grades, national/international exam scores, program preferences, and relevant academic qualifications.

Qualified applicants may be offered partial or full tuition waiver scholarships, categorized into five levels ranging from 20% to 100%. Limited accommodation scholarships may be available for top students on full tuition waivers.

Tuition waiver scholarships are applicable for up to 4 semesters in the English Preparatory Program and up to 10 semesters in 4-year undergraduate programs. Accommodation scholarships cover up to 8 semesters.

Recipients must maintain a minimum Annual-GPA of 2.00/4.00, take the minimum course load specified by their major department, and comply with attendance requirements. Failure to meet these conditions may result in a scholarship reduction.

Merit Scholarship:

International students excelling academically may be eligible for a merit scholarship. To qualify, students must achieve an annual GPA of 3.30 or above and rank in the top 5% of non-scholarship students in their program.

The merit scholarship covers tuition fees based on the student's rank within the top 5%, ranging from 100% to 20%.

Additional Information:

  • Applicants and students with or obtaining Turkish citizenship are ineligible for international student scholarships.
  • Disciplinary actions may lead to scholarship reduction or cancellation.
  • Exchange program participants must pass courses equal to their minimum course load.

For Graduates:

Currently, about 90 percent of graduate students receive financial support. Financial assistance is provided in the form of a tuition waiver or a tuition waiver plus a monthly stipend. The amount of the stipend is adjusted annually to cover changes in the cost of living.

Both admission and financial assistance are based on academic accomplishment and scholarly promise, without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, age, national origin, or physical disability.

Eligible Nationalities:

These scholarships are open to domestic and international students of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Undergraduate Programs:

Bilkent University accepts a range of international and national qualifications for undergraduate programs. Minimum qualifications for application are outlined below, and meeting these does not guarantee admission:

    SAT (digital & paper-based):

      • Reasoning Test: Minimum score of 1000 out of 1600 in “Math” and “Critical Reading” sections.
      • Subject Test: Minimum score of 500 out of 800 from a minimum of two sections related to the applied program.

      GCE Advanced Level (A Level), Cambridge International A Level:

        • Minimum three A level subjects in the particular area of the applied program with at least a “C” grade.
        • Various combinations of A levels, AS levels, and O levels are accepted for different subject counts.

        International Baccalaureate (IB):

          • Minimum diploma score of 28 out of 45. At least one HL subject related to the applied program.

          International Science Olympiads:

            • Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal holders in International Science Olympiads recognized by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey).

            Important Note:

            • Applications with predicted grades/results/scores will not be evaluated.

            For Graduate Programs:

            Entrance into Bilkent University's graduate programs requires the submission of either ALES (Akademik Personel ve Lisansüstü Eğitimi Giriş Sınavı/Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) or GRE scores. Additionally, GMAT scores are obligatory for those applying to graduate programs in Business Administration. Proficiency in written and oral English is a crucial criterion, and applicants are advised to consult the respective graduate school websites for a list of accepted English proficiency tests.
