The quantity of scholarships to be conferred is contingent upon the scholarships that receive annual endorsement and communication from the General Directorate of Higher Education to Higher Education Institutions.

Payments for the merit scholarships are executed directly by the DGES to the student within the timeframe specified by the Directorate-General for Higher Education. These payments are processed through bank transfers to the student's designated account, featuring the international bank account number (IBAN) provided by the student.

Excellence Scholarships: 

The University of Évora Excellence Award was established in 1988 by the University Senate. This prestigious accolade is bestowed annually to the student of the University of Évora who achieves the highest grade upon successfully completing their Bachelor's degree. The recipient must attain a minimum score of 16 out of 20 to be eligible for this distinguished honor.

Merit Scholarships for International Students:

The University of Évora offers merit scholarships to international students who have achieved high academic grades. In the first year, scholarships are awarded to students who have:

  • An average entry grade of at least 14 for first-cycle studies.
  • An average grade of at least 15 for their bachelor's degree for second-cycle studies.
