University of Oslo is inviting applications for research fellowships at the Department of Economics for a period of 3-4 years, depending on the teaching load. Research Fellows are expected to participate in the Faculty’s doctoral programme, with the aim of completing a doctoral degree within the appointment period. One position is associated with the research project European Strains. Up to 2-3 positions are not linked to specific topics or research projects and the student can choose his/her own project freely. The appointments are for a period of 3-4 years, depending on the teaching load. The application deadline is March 1, 2015.

Eligibility: The eligibility for University of Oslo Norway, Research Fellowships in Economics 2015 are as under :

A 2-year Master’s degree, the degree of cand.oecon, a Norwegian hovedfag or an equivalent qualification in economics is required. Candidates completing their Master’s degrees (or equivalent) in the spring semester 2015 before August 1, 2015, may apply. Candidates are required to have a background in at least two of the following three fields: Econometrics at least equivalent to ECON5100 Advanced Econometrics; Microeconomics at least equivalent to ECON5200 Advanced Microeconomics and Macroeconomics at least equivalent to ECON5300 Advanced Macroeconomic Theory.
-Candidates who lack any field may be given the opportunity to take one of these courses as a part of the PhD programme.
-For candidates with education from an institution outside the European Economic Area/the European Union or Switzerland a recent score from the general GRE test is required as part of the documentation of qualifications. The Department of Economics does not accept the GMAT tests to substitute the GRE. A good command of English is required of all applicants.
-International students must document their proficiency in English by taking either TOEFL- or IELTS-test.

  • Norwegian and international students can apply for these research fellowships.

  • 3-4 Research Fellow positions/Grants for doctoral studies are available at the Department of Economics. The appointments are for a period of 3-4 years, depending on the teaching load. Research Fellows are expected to participate in the Faculty’s doctoral programme, with the aim of completing a doctoral degree within the appointment period.

  • Fellowships include:
    -Pay grade 53-56 (NOK 451 500 – 474 500 per annum) for Research Fellowships (“Stipendiat SKO 1017″)
