Recent floods in Pakistan have left a lasting impact, jeopardizing the educational future of many. A new scholarship initiative aims to support those affected.
ISLAMABAD: In the wake of the devastating floods that swept through Pakistan, causing unprecedented damages to infrastructure and affecting millions of lives, a beacon of hope emerges for university students from flood-hit districts. Many of these students face the grim possibility of discontinuing their higher education due to financial constraints.
The USAID-funded Merit and Needs-based Scholarship Program, which has been aiding students from financially disadvantaged households since 2004, has stepped in to alleviate some of these financial burdens. The program has announced that it will provide scholarship funding for two semesters to support flood-affected students.
