Overview

The Business Services and Systems Design program at Manipal Academy of Higher Education is designed to equip you with the skills necessary to develop innovative business solutions that address complex, real-world challenges. This four-year Bachelor of Design (BDes) program fosters a holistic approach to design, encouraging you to think critically, prototype effective solutions, and collaborate across various disciplines to create sustainable service innovations.

What you'll study

• Disciplinary Studios: Engage in studio-based learning environments that enhance your core capabilities in business services and systems design, covering areas such as research, ideation, prototyping, and evaluation.
• General Studies: Participate in a compulsory component that promotes interdisciplinary learning across humanities, sciences, mathematics, and business foundations, including Development and Policy Studies along with language options like Spanish, French, and German.
• Interim / Practice Immersion: Experience an immersive introduction to real-world practice in emerging fields, combining guided learning with exposure to contemporary design challenges.
• Applied Projects & Studio Reviews: Undertake ongoing project work that allows you to develop and refine service and systems concepts through iterative feedback and studio reviews.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have successfully completed one of the following minimum educational qualifications:

Indian Boards:

• Pass in 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board, including State Board, CBSE, ISC, HSSCC, PUC, Junior College, Intermediate, Senior Secondary, or National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.

International Boards:

• A Levels: Minimum of 3 subjects at the 'A' Levels and 5 passes in IGCSE/GCSE, including English, with an average of 'D' grade.
• IB Diploma or IB Certificate: Minimum of 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL) with an overall minimum of 24 points.
• High School Diploma (USA/Canada): Completed senior secondary education with equivalence as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
