Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026 | One Young World
The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship, delivered by One Young World in partnership with the Hauwa Ojeifo Global Impact Fund for Women & Girls, is a transformative opportunity for emerging young leaders committed to addressing the urgent challenges faced by women and girls worldwide. Now in its second year, this scholarship supports changemakers tackling issues like child marriage, gender-based violence, mental health disparities, maternal and child health, disability rights, and sexual and reproductive health.
About the Scholarship
Globally, women continue to face significant health, social, and rights disparities. Nearly half of married women lack decision-making power over their sexual health, and 1 in 5 young women are married before turning 18. Without accelerated action, it will take centuries to achieve gender equality.
The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship empowers young leaders by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and global platform to create transformative impact in their communities. Scholars are equipped to lead initiatives that address systemic challenges affecting women and girls, fostering a new generation of empathetic, courageous, and visionary leaders.
Degree Level
The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship is not tied to a formal degree program. Instead, it targets emerging young leaders aged 18–30 who are actively leading initiatives or working in organizations focused on issues affecting women and girls.
So the scholarship is leadership- and impact-focused, rather than degree-focused. Applicants may be students, recent graduates, or young professionals, but there is no specific bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD requirement—what matters is demonstrated leadership and impact in relevant fields.
