The University of Warwick is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the ASEAN - UK SAGE Scholarship 2024, providing full funding for international female students pursuing Master's degrees in STEM fields. Developed in partnership with the UK Government and the British Council, this initiative aims to support women's education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Medicine. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living stipends, airfare, and additional expenses, empowering recipients from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam to pursue higher education at Warwick. Applicants must meet rigorous criteria, including academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to contributing to their home country's development. Important Information for Applicants from Indonesia and Thailand

While Indonesia and Thailand are not eligible for the ASEAN-UK SAGE scholarships at Warwick, this doesn't mean you can't pursue a Master's degree at the University! Warwick offers its own scholarship programs that you may be eligible for. Be sure to check the eligibility criteria and application deadlines for these scholarships on the Warwick website.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Warwick ASEAN - UK SAGE Scholarship:

To be considered for a scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Gender: Identify as a woman.
  • Citizenship and Residency: Hold a passport and be a permanent resident of one of the following countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.
  • Academic Standing: Have an unconditional offer for a place on an eligible Master's program at Warwick (applications pending by the scholarship deadline are considered). You must have applied to the program before applying for the scholarship.
  • Degree Completion: Have completed all components of your undergraduate degree by the time of application (final awards pending might be considered on a case-by-case basis).
  • Financial Need: Demonstrate a clear need for financial support and explain your socio-economic circumstances.
  • Funding Restrictions: Not be receiving financial support for your UK studies from any other source, and be unable to privately fund your studies.
  • Previous Education: Declare any periods of study outside your home country and explain how it was funded.
  • UK Education History: Have no prior experience with degree-level or higher studies in the UK, including distance learning or studies at a UK branch campus abroad.
  • English Language Skills: Meet the English language requirements for your chosen Master's program.
  • Academic Ability & Motivation: Be academically qualified and demonstrably motivated to thrive in a postgraduate program at a UK university.
  • Field Experience & Interest: Have demonstrable experience or a strong interest in the field of your chosen program.
  • Future Contribution: Commit to contributing to capacity building and socio-economic development in your home country upon graduation.
  • Return Commitment: Agree to return to your home country for at least two years after your scholarship ends.
  • Engagement & Communication: Maintain communication with Warwick University, the British Council, and ASEAN-UK SAGE. You will also be expected to participate in ASEAN-UK SAGE: Women in STEM alumni activities during and after your studies.
  • Promoting STEM Education: Demonstrate a clear plan and passion for encouraging other women and girls in your home country to pursue STEM fields.
  • Data Sharing Consent: Agree to the sharing of your personal data with the British Council and ASEAN-UK SAGE members for scholarship assessment and promotion purposes.
