What you'll study

The programme builds advanced knowledge across core areas of pharmaceutical science while developing practical laboratory and research skills. Typical modules include pharmaceutics and drug delivery, pharmaceutical analysis and quality control, pharmacokinetics and biopharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry and drug design, and regulatory and quality systems for medicines.

Students follow a combination of taught coursework and a research component. Taught units provide theoretical foundations and laboratory-based practicals; the research project or thesis gives students hands-on experience designing experiments, analysing data and communicating scientific findings. Entry requirements

• A relevant bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution.
• A competitive undergraduate academic record; departments typically expect a strong GPA or equivalent. Specific minimums are set by the admissions office.
• Proof of English proficiency if the applicant’s prior degree was not taught in English (accepted tests and score thresholds are set by the university).
• Supporting documents such as a curriculum vitae, a personal statement outlining research interests and career objectives, and one or more academic or professional references.
• Applicants with relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector may strengthen their application; some candidates may be invited for an interview.
