Entry requirements

• Academic qualification: A recognised first degree in English, Linguistics, Education, Modern Languages or a related discipline. Applicants with a degree in another subject plus relevant professional experience may also be considered.
• Grade: A good honours degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution is normally required.
• Professional experience: Relevant teaching or language-related professional experience is desirable, particularly for applicants without a directly related undergraduate degree.
• English language proficiency: If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate competence in English through an accepted qualification or other evidence of ability to study at postgraduate level.
• Supporting documents: A curriculum vitae, academic transcripts, and a personal statement outlining your reasons for applying and your proposed area of study. Depending on the pathway, a research proposal may be requested.
