• Lettings and property management — tenancy agreements, rent setting and collection, repairs and maintenance, health and safety responsibilities and working with landlords and tenants.
• Building construction and surveying basics — common building types, defects recognition, maintenance planning and preparing simple condition reports.
• Property finance and development awareness — introduction to finance options, investment appraisal, basic feasibility studies and development processes.
• Business and professional practice — record keeping, client care, professional codes of conduct, use of industry-standard software and preparing documentation for transactions.

Learning is typically assessed through a combination of assignments, practical portfolios, presentations and workplace-relevant projects. The programme often includes opportunities for work placements or employer-linked projects to build real-world experience.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification such as GCSEs (including English and maths) or equivalent vocational qualifications, or to have practical work experience in an office or property-related role. Mature applicants with substantial workplace experience in property, customer service or administration are welcome and will be considered on an individual basis. Candidates may be asked to attend an interview and provide a short written task or portfolio of experience. Where English or maths qualifications are not already at the required level, students will usually be expected to work towards or demonstrate competence in these skills alongside the diploma.
