What you'll study

The curriculum reinforces MPH-level foundations and advances applied skills across core public-health domains. Entering students build on prior knowledge in epidemiology, environmental health, biostatistics, research methods, health management, health policy, and social and behavioral sciences. In addition to coursework, students must pass a core competency exam, complete a practicum and meet dissertation requirements.

Entry requirements

• Master's degree in a health or social science discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• If the earned master's is not an MPH, transcripts will be reviewed to determine whether core MPH-level courses or equivalent content were completed; applicants without an MPH may be required to complete additional coursework.
• Admissions are offered only for the fall semester.

Graduates are prepared for leadership roles that require designing, implementing and evaluating health promotion and disease-prevention programs and shaping policy at community, organizational or population levels.
