What you'll study

Coursework concentrates on the practical use of health information technology and data to solve clinical and organisational problems. Students build skills in:

• designing and applying health IT systems to support health-care functions;
• storing, managing and analysing health data;
• information management and knowledge management;
• management, leadership and interprofessional collaboration;
• problem solving directed at improving care processes and patient outcomes.

All courses run online on an 8-week term schedule and the cohort includes students from varied professional backgrounds.

Entry requirements

Applicants come from diverse backgrounds; previous health-care experience is preferred but not required. The programme emphasises interprofessional learning and admits students with a range of prior skills and work experience.

The degree prepares graduates for entry- and mid-level positions in settings such as hospitals, electronic health record companies, public health organisations and firms that specialise in knowledge management.
