What you'll study

The curriculum follows an Advanced Generalist framework and includes foundation-year and advanced-year coursework aligned with CSWE competencies. Regular standing students complete 31 foundation credits plus 33 advanced credits (64 credits total); advanced standing students complete only the 33 advanced credits. Pathways of specialization include Clinical, Medical, and School Social Work, plus a student-designed pathway. Practicum requirements differ by standing: regular standing students complete 400 hours in the foundation year plus 500 hours in a separate advanced-year placement; advanced standing students complete 500 practicum hours during the advanced year.

Entry requirements

For regular standing admission applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an international degree judged comparable. Advanced standing applicants must have a CSWE-accredited BSW (or an ISWDRES-evaluated equivalent) earned within the last seven years.
