The Master of Education (M.Ed.) at Mangalore University is a two-year postgraduate programme (four semesters) designed to deepen professional and research skills for teachers and educational professionals. What you'll study

  • MES551(d): Pedagogy and Methodology of Teaching Mathematics
  • MES551(e): Pedagogy and Methodology of Teaching Commerce
  • MES551(f): Pedagogy and Methodology of Teaching Malayalam

Entry requirements

Applicants must have at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in one of the specified qualifications: B.Ed. (one- or two-year duration); B.A. B.Ed.; B.Sc. B.Ed.; B.El.Ed.; or D.El.Ed. together with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each). Reservation and relaxations for SC/ST/OBC/differently abled and other applicable categories follow State Government/UGC rules as applicable.

Career prospects

Graduates gain eligibility for teaching and research roles beyond the B.Ed. level: positions in B.Ed. colleges, university research wings, project assistant roles at state and national institutes, and preference for secondary and higher-secondary teaching posts (including plus-two). The degree is also intended to prepare students to undertake independent research projects and to register for M.Phil. or Ph.D. programmes.
