Programme overview

This double-degree offering allows RICS (Relazioni Internazionali e Cooperazione allo Sviluppo) students from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia to spend the first semester of their second year at Dalarna University Centre for African Studies (DUCAS) in Falun, Sweden. Study plans require prior approval by the Master’s Consortium Board established in the agreement. The pathway combines theoretical instruction with practical components and includes internship opportunities managed by the Università per Stranieri di Perugia. Students submit and defend their final thesis at both Perugia and Dalarna. There are no additional enrolment fees for the double degree.

What you'll study

The programme adopts both theoretical and practical approaches to African studies. While specific module lists are managed by DUCAS and must be incorporated into an approved study plan, the track explicitly integrates coursework delivered in English, supervised thesis work to be defended at both partner institutions, and a significant practical element through organised internships.

• Demonstrated knowledge of English at B2 level, as the language of instruction at Dalarna University is English.

No extra enrolment fees are charged for the double-degree pathway. The agreement provides for scholarships to support student mobility between Perugia and Dalarna. For students relocating to Falun, municipal student accommodation can be requested through Kopparstaden, which manages student housing in the town.
