• Graduates of recognised 4‑year (or 6‑year), 3‑year, 2‑year university, junior college or vocational school programmes who are currently employed in medical facilities (hospitals, long-term care facilities, pharmacies, etc.), nutrition/medical companies, or relevant administrative departments — required work experience: from a 4‑year (or 6‑year) programme, at least 1 year; from a 3‑year programme, at least 2 years; from a 2‑year programme, at least 3 years.
• Those who completed 16 years of formal schooling abroad.
• Those designated under the Ministry of Education rules.
• Graduates of foreign universities with courses of 3 or more years leading to a bachelor-equivalent degree (or candidates expected to receive such a degree) — applicants under this and several other categories must have at least 2 years' relevant employment.
• Applicants judged by the graduate school to have academic ability equivalent to a university graduate.

Applicants requiring a prior eligibility screening must submit the prescribed documents, including originals of diplomas and academic records, and other evidence (licenses, qualifications, work history) by the stated deadlines; additional documents or an interview may be requested during the screening.
