What you'll study

Each department operates its own PhD curriculum; students pursue advanced study and original research in a specialised area of dental science. Completion requires fulfilment of the required credits, supervised research, submission of a doctoral thesis and passing the final examination. The course emphasises both research capability and the capacity to contribute to education and societal benefit through specialised research.

Entry requirements

Eligibility is limited to applicants who have completed a six-year university course in dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or veterinary medicine, or applicants aged 24 or older whom the graduate school recognises (after individual screening) as having equivalent academic ability. Admissions are conducted twice yearly (examinations held in December and February). The programme admits up to 34 students, including special selection from non-student applicants.
