See the degree grade →Abilene Christian University’s Master of Accountancy is a one-year, 30-credit graduate program designed for students preparing for professional accounting roles and the Uniform CPA Exam. It suits recent accounting graduates and career-changers who seek concentrated technical training, communication and critical-thinking development in a small, Christian-faculty classroom environment.

Applicants must submit an online application with a $50 fee and official transcripts (in English) showing a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent. Minimum overall GPA required is 3.0, including a 3.0 minimum in undergraduate accounting courses. Those without an undergraduate accounting degree must complete an accounting leveling course with a 3.0 GPA before taking more than 6 graduate credit hours. Two letters of recommendation and a written personal statement of academic interests, strengths and weaknesses are required. A satisfactory GMAT score (generally 50th percentile or better) may be required for applicants who have not completed 24 or more semester hours at ACU with a minimum 3.00 GPA; the GMAT requirement is waived for applicants with a minimum GPA of 3.5. The program identifies common career paths for graduates including roles as corporate accountants, certified public accountants (CPAs), auditors, government accountants and tax professionals. The curriculum emphasizes written and oral communication, teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking to support these careers.
