Applicants must complete a BHSU graduate application and submit an official BS/BA transcript demonstrating a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, plus a non-refundable $35 application fee. A Curriculum Vitae is required and should include names and contact information for two to three references, relevant research experience, any publications or presentations and awards, and a brief personal statement (approximately 300 words) identifying a preferred faculty mentor and explaining how that mentor's research aligns with the applicant's goals. International transcripts for degrees earned outside the U.S. must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) or Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE); international applicants should consult the university's International Relations & Global Engagement office for visa and English proficiency guidance.
The programme prepares graduates for advanced study such as Ph.D. programmes or professional degree programmes, and for roles in biotechnology-related businesses. Graduates emerge with practical wet-lab and field skills, familiarity with genomic analytical tools, and experience communicating research at scientific meetings.
