A 30-credit online master’s designed for working professionals who want to shift into or advance within cybersecurity. Suits students from IT, information systems, engineering or non-technical backgrounds who seek hands-on, scenario-based learning and preparation for CISM-level management roles.

What you'll study

The curriculum comprises 10 courses (30 credit hours) that examine technical and managerial dimensions of security. Representative course titles include Cyber Defense; Incident, Threat, and Vulnerability Management; Information Security Operations; and Managing a Secure Enterprise. Core topic areas covered across courses include business strategy, IT ethics and research, information security, project management, vulnerability management, cyber defense, identity and access management, intrusion and malware detection, and security services and solutions. Courses are taught from a DevOps perspective and incorporate Agile delivery models to mirror common organizational practices.

Entry requirements

To apply you must submit a free online application, provide official transcripts from regionally accredited institution(s), and have access to a computer that meets CSP Global’s technology requirements. CSP Global accepts students from a variety of academic backgrounds; a computer science degree is helpful but not required. Up to 15 transfer credits may be accepted. There is no application fee.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for roles such as information security analyst, cybersecurity analyst, quality tester, security architect or consultant, and other security-focused positions across industries. The program teaches how to interpret business strategy for IT, manage technology teams and projects, develop security policies, and execute incident and vulnerability management processes (detect, analyze, contain, mitigate). It also trains students to use security metrics, communications and product-management practices to run security operations and to integrate malware and intrusion analysis into tactical intelligence. CSP Global notes alignment of the program with CISM preparation and highlights national demand for information security analysts.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Tuition is charged per credit; the program lists a cost of $525 per credit hour. CSP Global offers scholarships, a tuition discount for online students, transfer-credit pathways to reduce cost, and support for military students including GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon program assistance, transfer credit for military service, and reduced tuition for active-duty service members and spouses. Institutional aid, federal student aid, private loans and employer tuition benefits may also be options.
