What you'll study

The curriculum is organised into five parts to meet the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport requirement of a minimum 45 credits. Those five parts are: core courses, major courses, elective courses, research courses and a research work (thesis). Students must complete at least 37 credits of coursework and 8 credits of research work (thesis). The programme integrates study across agricultural and natural systems, cropping systems and social aspects of sustainability.

Entry requirements

Admissions are competitive with a maximum cohort size of 45 students. Priority is given to applicants whose prior studies or professional background relate to the programme (for example agronomy, veterinary science, animal production, biology, environmental sciences, chemistry, geography, physics, industrial or chemical engineering, economics, sociology). Preference is also given to candidates aiming to pursue a doctoral thesis within the UNICAM partner universities, those already holding grants or financing as part of a UNICAM research group, and applicants with relevant language skills, research merits or professional experience in environmental fields. The programme seeks to consider gender balance in final selection.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to work as sustainable agricultural technologists and researchers with practical experience, analytical capacity and research skills. The degree supports roles in policy, research, and strategic management across industry, government and development contexts where leadership on agricultural sustainability is required.

Scholarships & funding angle

The programme was established under an EU-funded UNICAM project; selection gives priority to students who bring their own financing or grants linked to UNICAM university research groups. Applicants without such funding should enquire with university faculties about available support or partnership opportunities.
