Research Focus
Key Areas:
- Investigating atomic-scale mechanisms affecting strength and ductility of Mg-rare earth (RE) alloys.
- Utilizing advanced microstructural characterization techniques including EBSD, EDX, SAXS, and TEM.
- Conducting ex situ and in situ nanoindentation tests (micro-tensile/compression).
- Contributing to the development of digital twins and new RE-free Mg alloy systems.
This research will impact applications in lightweight materials, hydrogen storage, and advanced manufacturing.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in metallurgy, slip/twinning mechanisms, and mechanical behavior of metals.
- Experience with Mg alloys, micro-compression, or SEM-based techniques is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
