Available Subjects

Research Focus

Key Areas:

  1. Investigating atomic-scale mechanisms affecting strength and ductility of Mg-rare earth (RE) alloys.
  2. Utilizing advanced microstructural characterization techniques including EBSD, EDX, SAXS, and TEM.
  3. Conducting ex situ and in situ nanoindentation tests (micro-tensile/compression).
  4. Contributing to the development of digital twins and new RE-free Mg alloy systems.

This research will impact applications in lightweight materials, hydrogen storage, and advanced manufacturing.

Eligible Nationalities

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Strong background in metallurgy, slip/twinning mechanisms, and mechanical behavior of metals.
  3. Experience with Mg alloys, micro-compression, or SEM-based techniques is an advantage.
  4. Excellent problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.
