What you'll study

This programme combines core business foundations with a focused suite of management and operations courses. You study subjects such as financial and managerial accounting, principles of marketing, corporate finance, organisational behaviour, business law and ethics, and business statistics. The management and operations strand emphasises operations management, supply chain fundamentals, quality management, project management, production planning, and process improvement methodologies.

Typical modules and learning experiences include:

• Core business foundations: introductory and intermediate courses in accounting, finance, marketing, business law and business analytics.
• Operations and supply chain: operations management, logistics and supply chain management, inventory and materials management, quality control and lean approaches.
• Management and leadership: organisational behaviour, strategic management, human resource fundamentals, and leadership practicum.
• Analytical skills: quantitative methods, spreadsheet modelling, database fundamentals and introductory business intelligence.
• Applied learning: a capstone project or practicum that applies operations and management concepts to real organisational challenges, and opportunities for internships with local and regional employers.

The programme emphasises experiential learning, case studies, team projects and the development of communication and decision‑making skills. Electives allow you to tailor the degree toward interests such as small business management, sustainability in operations, or information systems.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a recognised high school diploma or equivalent. Admission typically considers academic performance in secondary school, with a strong background in mathematics recommended. Saint Martin's may consider standardised test scores where provided, but many applicants are evaluated on a holistic basis including statement of purpose and letters of recommendation.

International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through recognised tests or equivalent credentials. Mature and transfer students are welcome; transfer applicants should submit official transcripts from previous postsecondary institutions. Applicants with relevant work experience may be considered through non‑traditional admission pathways.

Career prospects

Graduates of the BBA in Management and Operations are prepared for a range of roles that require both managerial judgment and operational expertise. Common entry roles include operations coordinator, supply chain analyst, production planner, project coordinator, management trainee and business analyst. With experience, graduates progress to positions such as operations manager, supply chain manager, plant manager, process improvement specialist or director of operations.

The degree also provides a solid foundation for entrepreneurship or further study such as an MBA or specialised masters in supply chain management, project management or business analytics.
