What you'll study

The programme integrates core international relations theory with specialised coursework in national security, intelligence, terrorism, cyber security, and conflict management. Students follow a mix of required and elective modules that typically cover topics such as international security theory, comparative foreign policy, strategic studies, intelligence analysis, defence policy, and security in the Western Hemisphere. Research methods and quantitative/qualitative analysis are included to prepare students for evidence-based policy work. Prior coursework or professional experience in government, military, law enforcement, international organisations, or NGOs is an advantage for the national security focus. International applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through an approved test or equivalent evidence where required.
